Modern Mechanics is a division of The Alma Tire Companies, a family-owned business that has specialized in servicing and supporting the transportation industry for over 60 years. Alma Tire got its start in the late 1950s, when our founder Richard Grace returned home from his time in the Air Force. Upon arrival, he took a job working for his father at a tire shop on the corner of Fancher and Broadway, in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Through the years, our company has grown in size and scope by never forgetting the basics – work hard, and be honest always.

Today, Modern Mechanics offers quality service to the Central Michigan area and beyond. Our technicians are ASE-certified and receive routine training on new vehicle technologies. The tools we use to diagnose are of the latest in the automotive industry. When it comes to mechanical repair – be it brakes, suspension, electrical, you name it – we are well equipped to maintain and service your vehicle, keeping you and your family safe.
