Frequently Asked Questions
What types of vehicles and repairs does Modern Mechanics handle?
Modern Mechanics services most passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks, both domestic and import. We handle everything from routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid services, filters, and tune-ups) to brakes, steering and suspension, alignments, tires, diagnostics, engines, transmissions, heating and A/C, and electrical issues.
Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins for service?
Appointments are recommended so we can reserve a bay and give you a more accurate turnaround time, but we do our best to accommodate walk-ins and same-day needs. If you’re dealing with a warning light, noise, or other urgent concern, give us a call or schedule online and we’ll work you into the schedule as quickly as possible.
Are your technicians certified, and do you use OEM-quality or approved parts?
Yes—our technicians are trained and many hold ASE certifications, with ongoing education as vehicle technology evolves. We use OEM or high-quality aftermarket parts that meet or exceed manufacturer specifications so your repairs are reliable and help protect your vehicle’s performance and safety.
Can you help me decide what maintenance is truly needed versus what can wait?
Absolutely. After we inspect your vehicle, we’ll explain which items are safety-critical, which are recommended to prevent future issues, and which can reasonably be scheduled for a later visit. Our goal is to give you clear, honest information so you can prioritize repairs based on your budget, mileage, and how you use your vehicle.
Is my service or repair covered by a warranty, and is it honored at other Alma Tire Companies locations?
Most services and repairs performed by Modern Mechanics include a parts and labor warranty; your advisor will explain coverage and duration before work is approved. Because we’re part of the Alma Tire Companies family, many warranty services can be coordinated through our sister locations when appropriate, making it easier to get help if you’re away from your home shop.
